What to Expect

Your first appointment generally begins with the massage therapist gathering information, including what prompted you to seek massage therapy, your current physical condition, medical history, lifestyle, stress level and any particular areas of pain or discomfort you are aware of within your body.

For a full-body session, you will be asked to undress to the level of your comfort. Undressing takes place in private and a sheet is provided for draping. The therapist will undrape only the part of your body being addressed, insuring that your comfort and modesty are respected at all times.

Your massage will take place in a private, peaceful atmosphere, on a cushioned table. Your therapist will ask for feedback during the session — feel free to express your needs. This is your massage therapy session and the therapist's goal is to work as a team with you to make the session both beneficial and enjoyable. Your overall comfort is of the utmost importance.

After your session, unless you have a prohibiting condition, you may consider drinking extra water for the next 24 hours to help flush out toxins released into your body by the work. Please feel free to ask your therapist any questions you may have about massage therapy or about your session in particular.
